The Hungarian Anton Lorenz is one of the key figures of Bauhaus design and tubular steel furniture. He took up the idea of the cantilever chair by Mart Stam and developed various tubular steel icons on this basis at the end of the 1920s, including this D35. The German manufacturer Tecta, which is committed to Bauhaus design, took up the idea of the D35 and developed it further into the current Kinetic version, in which the seat can be moved backwards using body pressure.
