Bonheur du Jour Desk

A technical and contemporary reworking of the style of desk popular in Paris in the eighteenth century, meaning ‘daytime delight’. The tambour, cabriole legs and brick carcass combine traditional methods of cabinet making with an updated style, giving this piece a feeling full of movement and lightness.

Inisde are a pair of dovetailed drawers housed under a small shelf for keeping stationery essentials.

The desk was on display at the Victoria & Albert museum for a period after it claimed the accolade of judges’ favourite on a BBC show in 2012.

Features a hidden brick with signed plaque.

Made from maple, sycamore, American black walnut, burr ash and poplar cluster.
