Adamo Highback Chair with Silhouette in Pine by Ugo Marano, 1978

This radical Italian chair in all its simplicity is designed by the thinker and creator of art Ugo Marano. It is a high back chair made of pine wood and basically consists of four elements of which the backrest seems to have a peculiar detail. ‍

Design: An orange-red glow radiates from this object. The knots and flame markings of the pine provide an attractive decoration that when you look through your eyelashes creates a kind of kaleidoscope-like effect. Another simple but effective design element is the shaved base of the legs. As a result, the frame does not sit tightly on the floor, but rather appears light-footed. The seat is not completely straight, but to some extent raised to the level of an ergonomic compromise. A striking detail is the abstract human figure or silhouette that protrudes a few millimetres from the wood and is secured to the edge of the backrest with dowels. 

The condition of this item is good with diffuse scratches and minor wear.
